Contractor Lead Exchange, LLC ("CLX," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how long we retain it. The choices available to you when you use our website, submit a project request, apply as a contractor, participate in a Revenue Leak Audit, communicate with us, or purchase a CLX service.
By using the website or submitting information to CLX, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not submit personal information through the website or our forms.
1. Scope
This policy applies to information that CLX collects through contractorleadexchange.com, CLX forms and applications, email, telephone, text messages, payment and invoicing systems, customer relationship records, audit workflows, and related business communications.
This policy does not govern the independent websites, services, or privacy practices of contractors or other third parties. Once a homeowner chooses to work with a contractor, that contractor may collect additional information under its own contracts and privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
Information from homeowners
When you request a contractor match or contact CLX about a project, we may collect:
Your name, telephone number, email address, and preferred contact method.
Your project address, city, ZIP code, and general service area.
Project type, description, photos or documents you choose to provide, desired timing, urgency, property type, and budget range.
Information showing that you own the property or are authorized to request work.
Your communication preferences, consent selections, and records of opt-outs or consent withdrawals.
Information about how you heard about CLX.
Information from contractors
When you apply to join CLX, receive opportunities, or communicate with us, we may collect:
Business and trade names, contact names, telephone numbers, email addresses, website addresses, and business locations.
Trades, services, service areas, preferred project types, capacity, and business preferences.
Licensing or registration numbers, insurance information, credential status, and other eligibility information.
Application responses, agreements, lead acceptance and response activity, outcome information, complaints, and performance records.
Billing contacts, invoice records, transaction amounts, payment status, tax information, and payment-processor references.
Revenue Leak Audit information
When a contractor applies for or participates in a CLX Contractor Revenue Leak Audit or related implementation support, we may collect company contact information, operational processes, lead and estimate totals, follow-up activity, sales or project outcome totals, workflow information, audit responses, findings, and implementation communications.
CLX does not require individual homeowner names or contact information to perform the Revenue Leak Audit. Contractors should provide totals or de-identified information and should not submit customer personal information unless CLX specifically requests it and an appropriate lawful purpose exists.
Payment information
Payments may be processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. The payment provider may collect payment card or bank account details, billing information, device information, and transaction information. CLX receives transaction records such as the customer name, amount, date, payment status, and processor reference, but does not intentionally store complete payment card or bank account credentials in its own systems.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website or interact with an online form, CLX and its service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring page or campaign, approximate location derived from IP address, dates and times of visits, form source, and interactions with website features.
Information from public and third-party sources
CLX may obtain publicly available contractor licensing, registration, insurance, business, review, and contact information from government records, contractor websites, business directories, and other lawful sources. We may also receive information from service providers that help us prevent fraud, process payments, deliver communications, measure website use, or operate the matching service.
3. How We Use Information
CLX may use information to:
Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
Review, qualify, route, and manage homeowner project requests.
Match a homeowner request with a participating contractor based on trade, service area, capacity, credentials, and project fit.
Review contractor applications and verify publicly available business credentials.
Deliver and administer contractor opportunities, agreements, billing, credits, and performance follow-up.
Administer Revenue Leak Audits, prepare findings and action plans, and provide related implementation support.
Send requested, transactional, administrative, or service-related communications.
Maintain consent and opt-out records and honor communication preferences.
Process payments, issue invoices, calculate taxes, maintain accounting records, and address disputes.
Detect duplicate, fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized activity and protect CLX, users, contractors, and the public.
Measure website and campaign performance, improve forms and services, and create aggregated or de-identified business insights.
Comply with legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and regulatory obligations and enforce CLX agreements.
4. Contractor Matching and Paid Referrals
CLX operates a homeowner-to-contractor matching and referral service. When you submit a homeowner project request and authorize matching, CLX may disclose the information reasonably needed for a participating contractor to evaluate and respond to that request. This may include your name, contact information, project address, project description, timing, photos or documents you provided, and relevant communication preferences.
CLX generally presents an opportunity to one participating contractor at a time. A contractor may pay CLX a lead or referral fee upon receipt of an accepted opportunity. If the first contractor declines, is unavailable, fails to complete the required acceptance process, or is not a suitable fit, CLX may sequentially offer the request to another contractor. CLX does not charge homeowners for submitting a project request, and homeowners are not required to hire any contractor.
CLX does not disclose homeowner information to data brokers or unrelated businesses for their independent marketing. A participating contractor may use information received from CLX only to evaluate, respond to, and follow up on the homeowner's requested project, except where the homeowner separately authorizes another use or applicable law permits it.
5. Other Ways We Disclose Information
CLX may disclose information in the following circumstances:
Service providers: To companies that provide website hosting, forms, email, telephone, text messaging, customer-relationship management, analytics, payment processing, accounting, document storage, automation, fraud prevention, security, and technical support. These providers receive information needed to perform services for CLX.
Professional advisers: To attorneys, accountants, insurers, consultants, auditors, or other advisers when reasonably necessary for professional services, compliance, security, or dispute resolution.
Legal and safety reasons: When CLX reasonably believes disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, property, payment integrity, or the security of CLX and others.
Business transactions: In connection with a potential or completed merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the CLX business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.
At your direction: When you request or consent to a particular disclosure.
CLX does not sell audit responses, audit findings, or a contractor's confidential operational information to homeowners, competing contractors, data brokers, or unrelated businesses.
6. Forms, Hosting, Analytics, and Payments
CLX uses third-party technology providers to operate its services. These providers may process information under their own privacy terms and their agreements with CLX.
Jotform: CLX may use Jotform to host forms and store form submissions. Review the Jotform Privacy Policy.
Stripe: CLX may use Stripe to process payments, prevent fraud, calculate taxes, and support payment-related services. Stripe may process identifying, device, billing, and transaction information. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Hostinger and analytics providers: CLX may use website hosting, security, analytics, and campaign measurement services, including tools that collect device and usage information via cookies or similar technologies.
Third-party providers may update their practices independently. Their privacy notices govern information they process for their own purposes.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
CLX and its providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the website functioning, protect forms from abuse, remember preferences, understand website traffic, measure campaign performance, and improve the user experience.
You can adjust cookie permissions via any consent tool on the website and in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website or form functionality. CLX does not use homeowner project descriptions or Revenue Leak Audit responses for unrelated behavioral advertising.
8. Communications and Consent
When you submit a project request, contractor application, audit application, or other inquiry, CLX may contact you about that request through the methods you provide or select. Project-related, application-related, payment-related, and administrative messages are service communications rather than general marketing.
Consent to receive marketing email or text messages, when requested, is separate from the permission needed to respond to a project or application. You may opt out of marketing email by using the unsubscribe link, if provided, or by contacting CLX. You may reply STOP to an automated marketing text where that option is available. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary transactional or service communications about an active request, payment, agreement, or audit.
If you withdraw permission to share an unmatched homeowner request, CLX will stop future matching as soon as reasonably possible. Information already provided to a contractor may remain subject to that contractor's independent legal, recordkeeping, and privacy obligations.
9. Data Retention
CLX retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to legal holds, tax and accounting requirements, insurance obligations, security needs, active disputes, and contractual requirements. CLX's current general retention targets are:
Spam, obvious tests, and unusable form records: generally up to 90 days.
Unqualified or closed homeowner leads and completed project communication records: generally up to three years after closure or completion.
Contractor applications that are not approved: generally within two years of the final decision.
Active contractor compliance and relationship records: while active and generally up to five years afterward.
Invoices, payments, and accounting records: generally up to seven years.
Marketing consent and opt-out evidence: for the duration of the consent relationship and generally up to four years afterward.
Security and access logs: generally at least one year when the applicable provider makes them available.
When information is no longer needed, CLX may delete it, de-identify it, or retain it in aggregated form that does not reasonably identify an individual.
10. Data Security
CLX uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, individual accounts where available, multifactor authentication for key systems, limited access based on operational need, and service providers that maintain security measures appropriate to their roles.
No transmission or storage system is completely secure. CLX cannot guarantee absolute security. If CLX discovers a security incident involving personal information, it will investigate, contain the incident, and provide notices when required by applicable law.
11. Your Choices and Requests
Depending on the information involved and applicable law, you may ask CLX to:
Tell you whether CLX retains your personal information.
Provide access to or a copy of personal information associated with you.
Correct inaccurate contact, project, application, or business information.
Delete information that CLX is not legally or operationally required to retain.
Withdraw consent for future optional uses or disclosures.
Opt out of marketing communications.
Ask questions about how CLX used or disclosed your information.
Submit a request by emailing info@contractorleadexchange.com or calling 360-836-4817. CLX may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request. CLX may deny or limit a request when permitted or required by law, including when information must be retained for taxes, accounting, fraud prevention, security, legal claims, contracts, or another person's rights.
When appropriate, CLX may notify a contractor or service provider that information should be corrected or deleted. CLX cannot guarantee deletion from an independent contractor's records where that contractor has a separate lawful reason or obligation to retain it.
12. Consumer Health and Other Sensitive Information
CLX does not request Social Security numbers, medical records, diagnoses, health-insurance information, biometric identifiers, or other consumer health data through its standard project, contractor, or audit forms. Please do not submit this information.
If a home project involves accessibility or accommodation needs, describe the construction or functional requirement without including a medical diagnosis or unnecessary health information. If CLX later begins collecting consumer health data, it will provide any separate notice and consent required by applicable law before that collection.
13. Children's Privacy
CLX's services are intended for adults and business representatives. CLX does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 submitted personal information to CLX, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
14. Contractor Responsibilities and Third-Party Services
Participating contractors are independent businesses. Contractors are responsible for their own communications, contracts, estimates, services, security, recordkeeping, and compliance with privacy and marketing laws. CLX is not responsible for a contractor's independent privacy practices. Homeowners should review a contractor's privacy terms before providing information beyond what is needed for the requested project.
The CLX website may link to websites or services operated by third parties. CLX does not control those services, and this policy does not apply to information collected directly by them.
15. Changes to This Policy
CLX may update this Privacy Policy as its services, technology, vendors, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how CLX uses previously collected personal information, CLX will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
